The end is near

Two final projects remain for me under the Iron Lung moniker. The “death” of Lung has been delayed by the death of an external hard drive carrying the entire last two projects. The irony. I haven’t written anything new as Lung and I don’t plan on it. I will continue to do music but as LAMEBOT, which is more production and DJ based. But anyway back to Lung news.
The first of the last two projects is “The Serpent And The Rainbow” a three-track single that is kind of like a play. Each track tells a part of the story, and if listened to separately, the vibe changes. The first track is called the cycle and it provides the setting for the project. This record is definitely more sample based which is not at all how I normally do things, but you can check out the first track here.

And now, the album you have all been waiting for, myself included, “F@wkYouLucy”. There is no album art yet since I want to make sure I can salvage all the songs and put out the record first. Luckily I was able to find one of the beats and knew the lyrics since I had been using it in live shows for awhile.
I present to you, “Skeleton Dance”. I won’t be a douche and explain my weight point of view on what the song is about, but I will be nice enough to provide you with the lyrics. Scroll just under the video to see the lyrics and also download the mp3 for free.

I take another breath in hopes to dull whatever’s illing me. Despite the speed and several turns I still feel it breathing down my neck. Now I’m no worldly genius but I figure I can guess the shadows chasing my own dreams through my past have connects.

I got that dotted line reasoning, applying my own seasoning to flavor my own physics to taste better while I’m panicking and I eat my words as a fail safe against detention because even if they catch me my heart is still bedlam. O brother, when will I finally understand that a wicked way of life will always lead to tragic end? No matter. No illustrious path to blaze so then I lower brow in reverence as to never dream again. Spider web signature caught in between the seconds my eyes saw the innocence planted in your cadence and I quickly got the message and tried to keep up and fell through the cracks, I guess it’s not enough to want to dance with the skeletons filling up the closet. I got an itching in my inner being; a weight lifting off my conscious. I got a new hope rising with the dawning of this moment. Even though they wore it down I’ll say they never broke it. I am still here, petals plucked early, still within your grip to catch sunlight every morning. Love it or leave it either way you see it, it’s always and forever part of my ephemeral being.

Left foot, right foot, dancing with the skeletons implementing shadows over something barely relevant. It takes two to tango and three to make a stand so gather up in circle form and take them by the hand.

(Go) lined up and properly waiting for a sign to move among us until obviously we can’t see it. Surreptitious in it’s being, but still vaguely familiar and cold to the touch with boney fingers and a feeling like we’ve been here before. I recognize the special mixture of aromas. A cloud of kind words that only smelt of death elegantly wrapped its way around my neck. I stayed anxious, nervously still. Eyes closed trying to distract me from the image. Eyes opened up and it came in a flash. Is this what you wanted? Is this what you needed?

Back up for a second I need a little breathing room. My heart was palpitating four times above the usual. Usually when it does it doesn’t even matter since it always calms down when I chase it off with laughter as the best medicine; injection through the crevices seeking carnal judgment as a payment for their negligence. Never really noticed nothing special about the sentences simply put together to distinguish all the heaven sent moments. I was hoping you would notice my eyes dilated so no reason to be focused. Every screaming memory will randomly attack but if I let you go I no longer am attached so I’ll sprint free, but later down the line I’ll be back at square one with another chance to face it. Pull me out the ground with no regard to my health. You can pick me apart until completely desecrated but I am still here petals plucked early, still within your grip to catch sunlight every morning. Love it or leave it either way you see it, it’s always and forever part of my ephemeral being.

The video is actually footage I cut and spliced together from one of my favorite movies called “Raging Phoenix”. If you’re into martial arts movies, I recommend it. I don’t want to give away the plot but the martial arts used is fictional but funny enough something I had been imagining for years. It is actually a b-boy infused version of Mauy Thai Boran with a drunken edge. It looks a little bit like sloppy Capoeira. I started Capoeira because I wanted to be a better b-boy, but to be honest Mauy Thai is where my movements feel natural. So of course I started thinking of ways to combine all three. And then I saw this movie and I imploded. I survived my self-made black hole to bring you this song, this video, and the last two Iron Lung projects. I produced this whole track myself, played the keys and made the drums myself. I also recorded the whole thing at my home studio and mastered as well. All in all a lot of work so I really hope you guys enjoy this one.

Much love,
Lung

A Season of Reflection

Mirrors Facing Mirrors
Produced and written by Iron Lung

I can stare into your soul, I can see right through you. I can string along a sentence; I can puppeteer your mood. I can ask the wrong questions, only malice for intention and pick at all the flaws only visible to you. This is so pedantic, borderline sacrilegious as the attacks start to form something slightly cohesive. Consider this my thesis, the only glowing pieces, fragmented phrases in the midst of non-sequiters. Isn’t this lovely? Eking through the murky troubled waters later proved to be the bane of your existence. Although the ripples may deform the image, the essence in the wake is still original in pigments and somehow stays proactive. I only show the present, you’re the one how was to explain what really happened as you try to stay attractive. Fatal flaws and killer instinct were all parts included in the package.
“You and me, we’re in this together now. None of them can stop us now. We will make it through somehow.”
Another day gone by another chance to miss the segment of the daily periodical set aside with sole intention to cause slight depression on the weakest of the souls by laying out your dreams to poke fun at all your goals. Too many times we have drawn the same conclusion thinking only separation could be the right solution. The more space expands the more reflections we propose that we can change for the better but the lies are just our own and we believe them; these self-correcting versions of alternatives to facing all of the disillusions in a mundane existence. I know you’ve been a witness first hand to everything within this chronic illness. I know that I’m your rock, I know that I’m your crutch, I know I represent everything you wish you was. I wish that you could see the beauty in destruction, ‘cause once we hit the bottom, the only way is up.
“You and me, we’re in this together now. None of them can stop us now. We will make it through somehow.”
Don’t try and look away I know you can’t ignore that uneasy feeling that this just isn’t normal and leaning into something that you’d rather not mention as to not give it attention and then focus on shame. I am not amazed that you’re still scared to face everything that you’re becoming this is no mistake. As if you really needed anymore self-assurance, I can assure you that you mustn’t look away. Look closely at your doubts and you’ll find me. Look at all your failures and you’ll find me. If you ever really listened to all your indecisions you’d noticed the voice in the back, yeah it was me. Take a deep breath and slip into attrition so you can close your eyes and finally accept the truth. Maybe this will help clear your vision of who you really are, you’re me and I’m you.
“You and me, we’re in this together now. None of them can stop us now. We will make it through somehow. You and me, if the world should break in two; until the very end of me, until the very end of you.”

A Season of Resurrection

2/20/2009 02:35:00 PM / Posted by Iron Lung / comments (0)

So I decided to start blogging on my writing process through out the new EP and album coming out later this year on Afterdeath Records. The EP is obviously taking up more of my time since it’s coming out first, but I’m in good shape so far. The EP is going to be 8 songs of pure hodge podge. Nothing meshes, none of the beats flow the same, and some of it sounds different from the beats people have grown used to hearing me spit to. I think this is what’s going to help set it apart. Well, that and the name, “I’m A Lesbian, No Homo”. The name came from a joke we toss around in my circle of friends and I’m sure some other people do it to but here goes the explanation… this purely to avoid any confusion and arguing from any overly sensitive and defense individuals. We may be in a big group of people at a restaurant and I may say something to a friend of mine like “Hey, toss my salad for me? ... No homo”. It’s not an anti-gay statement (I could almost see the protestors now) it’s just a comical unnecessary clarification of a statement made with or without possible double innuendo.

Now that we go the politics out of the way… song time! 8 songs, 4 of which are fully written for, and out of those, 3 are already recorded and mixed down. Yes, one of the songs is Hibernation so I kind of cheated but everything else is new. The first track I produced doesn’t have lyrics yet. The second track was made by MuseSick, and trust me when I say you’ve never heard me on anything similar to this. The third song is fully written for and it’s called Table Talk produced by Skott Phree which is followed by Hibernation as the fourth track. The fifth track is called Stuck Here Somewhere Else and is all done and recorded and being mixed by Jupiter Flux. Actually Jupiter Flux decided to take full mixing duties on his own for this EP so that’s a load off me. He is also producing the 6th track which is totally empty and is featured on the 7th track produced by me called “In the Lobby with a Lead Pipe”. It’s a real dusty, lost in space track. The last track was produced by Skott Phree entitled Sixteen Seasons. This track is also empty as I keep trashing ideas I write for it because I don’t feel its fresh enough.

I just got a reply back from Jasmine Tame and so far so good. She seems down to take the picture that will become the cover for the EP. Have I mentioned how incredibly awesome she is? I owe her and like 3 other friends a song mention lol. Hopefully I get the shirts in soon so I can start selling them and you can start wearing them because well everyone wants a shirt that says either “I’m A Lesbian” or “No Homo”. I didn’t sleep all last night I was up writing finishing up emails and blah blah with a borrowed laptop that’s on the fritz. I really need my baby fixed so I can get back on my grind. I should be coming up with new artwork via Photoshop I can post here and/or on my MySpace page. So what’s the best thing about this EP? Duh, Jasmine Tame… second best? Since there is no true cohesive thought, each song really goes off in different directions. Anyways I guess I rambled on long enough, here is a snippet from “Stuck Here Somewhere Else”

Stuck in the middle stick in the mud passing up the forecast choosing the flood. Lost in the choice five days for rest of your breaths to be stuck here somewhere else

And the last two remnants of a long forgotten summer emerged from the smoke holding hands; as if to not be noticed they crept along the shoreline hiding under wakes and castles in the sand. So along came a spider and spun a new web this time all the spins were true. So please take your time to acknowledge all the tangents before you start to think this web was for you.

Well I’ll try and keep everyone updated on the latest happenings and include some more writing later. In the meantime be sure to pick up your own FREE COPY of the UNDERGROUND ODDITIES VOL 1 compilation EP. It has a bunch of songs spanning from 2006 to 2008.Here's the link http://www.mediafire.com/?u1nn0yj2mq2
